Sheena Sumaria, Co-director and Producer
Sheena studied economics and development studies at Cambridge University and the School of Oriental and African Studies and started to make films while travelling and working with marginalised communities in South America. Her films include Still Standing, set in the slums of Colombia, and Chile Construyendo Sueños about the Chilean student uprising. She has also worked for a range of NGOs and international organisations on social policy and international development issues.
Sonum Sumaria, Co-director and Producer
Sonum read Spanish and Russian at Cambridge University. She studied filmmaking at the renowned Cuban film school, EICTV, and has directed and produced a number of short films and documentaries. These include award-winning Goppi, the Cuban Indian, a short documentary exploring identity and belonging, and The Enchanted Apple Tree, a metaphorical fiction film blurring reality and fantasy. She also has experience teaching in primary and secondary schools in the UK and abroad.
Nick Gibbon, Editor
After graduating from the BA film programme at Edinburgh Napier University, Nick has directed and produced a number of short films, including Old Land and Suburban Homes. He has worked as an editor on several fiction and documentary films, including award-winning Pablo’s Winter, Swallow and Bridging the Gap.
Aman Iqbal, Composer
Aman is an avid percussionist, trained tabla player, beatboxer and a world music composer. He likes to collaborate with artists from different backgrounds and genres. He has done compositions with turkish folk artists, Indian classical, western classical artists and carnatic music instrumentalists. Although his music styles span from jazz, afro-cuban to Indian ethnic, there is a strong element of electronic sounds in his music. When not making music, Aman can be found searching for a cure for cancer, inflammation and other disorders.
